Comments from visitors

Older persons

• I will make sure I check doors and windows at home in the future.  Everyone over 60 should get to come and visit.
• I have since made sure all my smoke alarms are in working order and check them every week which makes me feel safe.
• I would definitely encourage others to attend a session.  It was a very worthwhile and informative visit.

Children

• Thank you for letting us come to SafetyWorks! I have learned a lot.  My favourite one was the kitchen because I learned more in this one compared to the others.  Thanks again!!
• Thank you for having us at SafetyWorks!  It was great.  I really enjoyed going in the police cell.  Once again thank you.

Teachers

• The children enjoyed participating in activities.  They were able to understand more by visual clues and were talking about it back at school, recalling everything they had seen.
• Schools need to be aware of how good this venue is.  It was particularly nice to see less able pupils able to recall important messages.  The staff were really good with childen and able to communicate at the right level.
• The children absolutely loved it and were talking about it when we got back to school.  It was also an excellent way to teach children about safety and linked well with the curriculum.

Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) Group

• Can we go again? (8-9 year old category)
• It was great.  The people were really friendly and wanted to help us understand the dangers around the community.  It was fun too. (10-11 year old category)
• I think I learnt more here today (about safety) than I would anywhere else.  It was a mint experience! (12-13 category)
• The staff made the entire session easy to understand and interacted well.  Anywhere else I probably would have fallen asleep! (13-16 year old category)
